THEY NEED OUR HELP

On the evening of December 31, 2022, Marc Grassl and his family were driving in Virginia Beach where they were struck head-on by another vehicle. Thankfully, police officers, firefighters, and EMS arrived quickly to the scene where the jaws of life device was used to cut each of them out of the vehicle. They were rushed to surrounding hospitals and treated for serious injuries by selfless and dedicated medical staff. Over the next several days, still in critical condition, every member of the family would undergo one or more surgeries, with many still to come. Collectively, the Grassl Family suffered with the following conditions: fractured ribs, skull, jaws, femur, and pelvis; shattered hip; internal lacerations, including damaged spleen, bladder, and kidneys. It was said by several bystanders and support personnel that they barely made it out alive.

As of today, all but one member of the Grassl Family is still in the hospital being treated for the severe injuries they sustained. Marc is still intubated and on a ventilator. Although his blood pressure has fallen to 80/40 several times, he continues fight. He fights not only for himself; but he’s fighting to keep hope alive in his family.

Members from Bible World Church of Chesapeake, under the direction of Pastor and Mrs. Jack Cunningham, have given support, taken care of the home and pets, and stayed with the family around the clock in case they have a need. Hundreds have volunteered to pray for the family. Many thanks to those who have helped in any capacity.

Special thanks to Bush Vacuum Solutions, Marc’s employer, for their support as this situation has unfolded. Key members and friends within the company have visited Marc and his family and have proactively sought for ways to assist during this time of crisis.

The Grassl Family has touched numerous lives in a positive way. Many have reached out asking how they can be a blessing to Marc and his family during this trauma and the resulting challenges they will face. Events like this car accident will incur unforeseen medical costs in addition to day to day living expenses, which will be insurmountable without assistance.
